Cheezin' and Cheese Curds - Aerprize Week 3

Spirited off in a Citation Mustang with Angel City Flyers President Seosamh Somers, Carmel and Conor attended the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin this week. Being part of the world’s largest gathering of aviation enthusiasts gave the Aerprize scholars an opportunity to observe trending innovation in aviation and aerospace, take part in a virtual reality simulation of Diamond Aircraft, witness fighter jet demonstrations and a nighttime air show and fireworks. And, they saw a completely different part of the United States.

“I didn’t think I’d ever fly in a private jet at 19,” Conor says. Aspiring astronaut Carmel adds, "The NASA tent was my favorite."

As for local gastronomy in America’s Dairyland, Conor and Carmel sampled fried cheese curds, that famous Wisconsin delicacy. According to Conor, “It was a unique experience.”

This coming week, we wish Carmel and Conor all the luck in the world as they take their private pilot written exam. We have a secret outing in store for them as well – stay tuned.
